Tough one. Alot of people will defend their blindss so unlike most calls of that raise you can't assume he's got a solid starting hand. I'd guess he caught part of the straight or heart flush. He called a pretty good raise on the flop so it's time to worry. Often people will put you on AK, AQ, AJ so with a low flop they'll assume you're still playing high card.

Now with the ace, he may assume you hit your hand and a raise will get him out. However he called alot and is getting pot committed so I'd probably check and take a card.
