View Full Version : AK - what do you do here?

I've had some problems with AK in a specific type of situation. The problem comes when I run into a flop like ATJ or AQT. Naturally I bet out, but what is the proper play when someone who has called a pre-flop raise re-raises me? I often muck the hand with the thought being that my opponent has hit two pair, trips, or a straight. Is this too weak? Should I raise back to get a better idea of what the other person has?

One thing to remember is that the guys who I've been folding to have not been particularly crafty. They're not the kind of guys I would expect to re-raise on a bluff.

This question is way to generic to answer. Post a specific hand, or make one up.

By the way, in both of the examples you gave, "it depends," but generally I'm betting/raising/reraising and leading the turn. Those are good flops for AK.
