I hate how monster hands never seem to get me any money!!! Could I have played this differently/better?

Not really sure. The only thing that I would have done different is to bet around the pot on the flop. Since you were last to act, it may be that you could have come across as trying to steal, and someone with 2 paints or a small pair might have called to look you up.

Then you check on the turn no matter what, and if that doesn't induce someone to bet on the end, then bet it yourself and see if you get any takers.

Given that you have all the good cards on the flop, I don't think slowplaying is good. It is unlikely that you will find someone who will bet with anything less than a made set on the turn, especially if everyone just limped in.

You should bet the pot on the flop here in my opinion, anyone with 2 spades and possibly a 7 or a pp 88-KK is gonna call you. If they all fold so be it, these things happen.
