Home game, .50/1 blinds, $100 max

UTG ($600)
Hero ($250)
SB ($70)
Button ($180)

Stack sizes are approximations

First off, UTG is running better than I've ever seen anyone, has turned his $100 into $600, is playing any two, and has called big raises pre-flop with hands such as K2s, J2s and taken huge pots (off me), by making flushes each time.

I've re-bought twice but am sitting on $250 due to a flopped nut straight that the big stack paid off.

Hero picks up A /images/graemlins/club.gifK /images/graemlins/spade.gif in the BB.

UTG limps, button limps, Sb calls, I check.

Flop: A /images/graemlins/spade.gif, J /images/graemlins/spade.gif, 5 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif.

SB checks, I check, UTG bets $10 (as he will do with any piece, he would play bottom pair in this manner)

Button folds, SB calls, I bump it to $25, UTG calls, SB folds.

Turn: 4 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif

I bet $35, without hesitating UTG makes it $60, I curse to myself and call.

River: 4 /images/graemlins/heart.gif

I check, UTG checks.

Thoughts everywhere appreciated. I don't think I played the turn well. When the four hits on the river, I almost bet but figure if he calls I'm beat, if he raises I fold and kick myself for the next week. So I checked. If anyone does anything else on the river, I'd love to hear why. I'll post the results if there's enough interest.

Just for fun, guess what the big stack had?

Good point.

Long session, lots of money lost, no one's looking out for this

First things first. any reason why you simply didnīt left the table? I know it is a home game, but I would call it a night or pay close attention to who is dealing.
The guy is running hot. You rebought twice.
About the hand. You are already fearing him. You have top pair. Considering what you told us, he might have anything, even two pair on the turn. It is tough to play in any other way afraid of what he is holding. Your hand for the ammount of money that is in, doesnīt seem to hold. But then he checks the river. Well... you won. Stone cold bluff his reraise.

Kind of a stone cold bluff.

he had 2 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif5 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif for a pair and the staight flush draw, and the way he was running, I can't beleive he didn't get there.

As for your implications of cheating, absolutely zero chance.

Maybe he was. I just don't think so.

It's just that most decks only have one 5 of diamonds in them.

I think you are missing that you have 2, 5 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif in this deck.

His point was that the 5 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif is duplicated. Probably you got something wrong in the retelling.

got it. I went wrong somewhere, but then again I was a little drunk.

must have been 5 /images/graemlins/spade.gif, because there were two spades on the flop

Which makes the A a /images/graemlins/diamond.gif
