Lost a few quick ones, down to 600.

Then had QQ vs. JJ, but the board set a straight 4-8 for a chop. /cry.

A2o in BB. Folded to button who miniraises.

Is it right to call here, even though it's just a miniraise? I may very well have the "best" hand, but if an ace doesn't flop my hand can't take much action.

Anyway, I call, flop is A-high, I check, button bets all-in, I call and he shows 88.

After that nice double-up, I win the blinds on the next couple hands with A6 and AK, then win a big pot with KK. 13000 chips now with 150 left.

Calling there is the worst thing to do. Reraise or fold.

Someone just accused fnurt of working for Party Poker...hilarious.

His A2 vs. all-in's AJ, 2 hits the board...

Finished in 29th for $900. Can't complain a bit!

I think the PP conversation was about a different guy at the table, it had kind of been an ongoing thing for a while.

I had a tough decision with 41 left and 44 in my BB. Folded to the SB who raises, what do I do? I was very short-stacked, had just enough to fold the blinds and limp around for an orbit with 500 chips or so. The problem was that 40th place represents an extra $150, I'd love to fold my way there if I can, but do I give up my last equity to try for it?

Looking around there was one other short stack still alive, he would be taking the blinds in a couple hands, but again, to wait for him to bust out would mean blinding down to 500 chips. I ultimately decided it just wasn't sensible to play that way, especially considering he might double and then where would I be?

So I called, won the coinflip, and was rewarded by the poker gods with not just the extra $150 I hoped to make by folding my way into 40th, but with an additional $150 on top of that.
