Bad Santa is one of the most overrated XMas movies ever. I don't find raging alcoholics funny.

Ha, I just rented this movie over the weekend. I have never laughed so hard. Definitely not a movie for people who are offended by colorful language /images/graemlins/grin.gif
Not sure what that little guys name is, but he is very funny. I loved him in "Me, Myself, and Irene".

everybody i know that's seen it said it was terribly overrated
Its certainly the type of movie that will provoke an extreme response from the viewer. I liked it.

my favorite line was "I loved a woman who wasn't clean, ok?!"

I loved Crumb and Ghost World but Bad Santa left me really disappointed. Sometimes naked cynicism is empty.

[b]I loved Crumb and Ghost World[b]
Crumb, yay. Ghost World, boo. I love Steve Buschemi, but this movie was pretty bad, Thora Birch being the main reason.

Michael Moore in his life will never make a documentary half as good as Crumb, if he ever in fact MAKES a documentary.
Ghost World was overrated, but it's where we first seen Scarlett... /images/graemlins/shocked.gif
Thora Birch was very good in American Beauty I thought, but then pfft. Buscemi always=genius, even in Con Air! /images/graemlins/laugh.gif

The whole concept of "Mrs Santa's sister", along w/the pink elephant nudge-wink.
Mind you, the Bad Santa team is remaking Bad News Bears. Will be genius if they don't wimp out for the PG-13. Be even cooler if they keep it set back in the 70's IMO.

Billy Bob Thornton did a terrible job of playing a drunk..
It was in the eyes.. He seemed totally coherent, yet he was supposed to be drunk......

I really wanted to like "Bad Santa", but did not. I thought Bernie Mac and John Ritter were good in it but the rest was lacking.
The best Xmas movie ever, IMHO, is "A Christmas Story".

"A Christmas Story" is classic. I watch every year.
Another favorite of ours is "The Ref."
