i took two things out of this hand...A: i think the fold was correct, because I would not have called those re-raises. but at the same time...not knowing that MP3 had a hand, was it still correct to fold? and B: if i had called those reraises, my win would be due purely to luck.

UTG+2 raised preflop so he's probably going to come out firing on the flop regardless of what he has. If you're going to fold to this bet even if you hit your ace then why play AJs at all to a raise? Fold preflop. Realize that your position relative to the raiser is horrible here.

i'll call a 4xBB raise with AJs for the flush possibility or jacks. also, if the ace hits and UTG doesn't bet...that means I will lead out and see what happens, oftentimes taking the pot down right there. this is low limit PP, so the PF raiser doesn't always come out raising on the flop if he doesn't hit something...

all in all, there are a lot of good things to come out of playing the AJs. for the few times i flop aces and fold them, there are more times i flop jacks or flush draw or aces without a bet in front of me.

This is a fold preflop, because you have the worst possible position relative to the raiser, if he is an auto bettor of the flop.

Thats exactly the problem with your position, you don't have a clue what the rest of the field are going to do and to find out, you have to commit money with a rather weak holding which you will have to give up when the betting comes back to you.

That is good advice. When you called pre-flop, you should imagine that he would fire post-flop. You hit your pair on the flop, so you should be prepared to call there too.
Although, AJ is a dominated hand to AQ. Had you called and won cause of the Turn, it would have been luck. You did the right thing folding there. But maybe you should have considered folding pre-flop.
