Any 2+2er planning to be at Bay 101 tomorrow. Looking to make my first visit there. Usually play online and occasionally in Tahoe and was hoping to get a few pointers on limit/rules/type of players there. I plan on playing 3-6.

Limits: 2/4, 3/6, 6/12, 20/40, 40/80

Low-limit players: Bad, worse and just plain horrible.

Rules: $3 time charge on the button instead of rake. Its live so don't forget to check your option on the button in an unraised pot rather than mucking.

Just to add to what's already been said, most of the players at 6/12 or less are awful. You'll routinely see it capped 6- or 7-ways preflop. Over 90% of the players are Asian and are there to gamble. If you're halfway decent, you'll almost certainly be the best player at the table.

Even in a raised pot, you should be playing a lot of hands on the button. With a couple of callers (very likely in these games), you're getting tremendous odds and, unlike being in the big blind, you have position. Calling a 3-bet cold is another story, of course.

Oh, and if you get really hot, they also spread 80/160. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
