Stars 10+1 Rebuy 20k Guaranteed. I was just moved to the table so I had no reads.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t4000 (9 handed) converter (http://www.selachian.com/tools/bisonconverter/hhconverter.cgi)

Button (t48260)
SB (t62228)
BB (t274599)
UTG (t103313)
UTG+1 (t60194)
MP1 (t43342)
Hero (t14660)
MP3 (t53518)
CO (t89215)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with 8/images/graemlins/club.gif, 8/images/graemlins/spade.gif.
UTG raises to t8000, UTG+1 folds, MP1 folds, Hero raises to t14460, MP3 folds, CO folds, Button folds, SB folds, BB folds, UTG calls t6460.

Flop: (t30320) 6/images/graemlins/heart.gif, K/images/graemlins/spade.gif, 6/images/graemlins/club.gif (2 players)

Turn: (t30320) 4/images/graemlins/club.gif (2 players)

River: (t30320) 3/images/graemlins/spade.gif (2 players)

Final Pot: t30320

UTG shows Kc Qs (two pair, kings and sixes).
Hero shows 8c 8s (two pair, eights and sixes).
Outcome: UTG wins t30320.

Was pushing the right play here? I had about 4x the BB and I figured pushing with at worst a 53/47 and possibly a 70/30 was better than most likely going through the blinds then going all in before the next blinds with less chips. I ended up getting 69th. I believe the next payout increase was around 60, but I don't really care about an extra $20, rather double through and make an attempt at high places than get $20 more.

with your small stack, you had to do something. he has to call, so you could more than double up here. your hand is by no means a monster, but with blinds coming, may be your best shot.

cheers!

I would prefer a chance to open raise so that I have at least a little folding equity, but with 4x, you can't get picky. There's not a snowball's chance in hell you are mucking 88 there, so all in it is.
