Played 3 quick $10+1 SnG's on UB after work.
Two 3rd places = $40
Entry fees = $33
Profit = $7
Compare that to two firsts
Two 1st places = $100
Entry fees = $33
Profit = $67
That's nearly 10x the profit just for two firsts. I'd have to play over 21 more SnG's getting two 3rds out of every three played just to equal what I could have won in profit with two 1sts.
I knew 3rds were "good but bad" but wow when you do some number crunching it really comes through. Definitely going to have to be much more aggressive on the bubble and when ITM (although this example is not typical of my results, I get many more firsts than anything).
