I am on a 100 BB downswing in 5/10 (5 max). I read these forums everyday and read a ton of books. I am hugely successful in NL200 and 3/6 (5 max). I have only played 1000 hands or so at 5/10. The first day I may have missed some bets and called off some river bets when I was losing, but today I played solid and still got crushed. It seemed like they hit every draw, or 2 outer that was needed. How many hands do I need to see accurate results (95% or higher accuracy)?

So you beat 3/6 5 max on paradise poker consistently? If I remember correctly that is a significantly harder game than the 5/10 6 max on party. It should be easy for you to beat this game once you have enough experience with the types of players.

"but today I played solid and still got crushed. It seemed like they hit every draw, or 2 outer that was needed"

thats gambling. thats just part of the "swings" in poker.
just deal with it, respect it, and be humble about it.

If you're playing at paradise the 5/10 is much tougher than the 3/6, still very beatable if you're careful with table selection.

1000 hands, 100BB is meaningless. If you care to share your screenname, I'll tell you what my stats say (assuming paradise).

Last 130 table hours I have been unbelievable unlucky. I stopped playing for a week. Yesterday I started again. At first table I sat down I lost 50BB ($500) in 90 minutes. It was a joke. I know bad luck got no memory but sometimes its hard to believe.

Good luck.

-yes this was a real quote.

Cheesy, perhaps, but absolutely true.

He's not going to know if it's "beatable for him" until he plays at least an order of magnitude more hands. Focusing on results in the mean time is a mistake.

If you can beat the paradise game the party 5/10 game is infintely easier. Maybe you are bluff betting too much and betting second pairs to hard. Generally if you try and bangout a mullet it won't be good for your roll. Basically the 5/10 games play like "tight" 1/2 games.

If you can beat the Paradise game you can beat any 30-60 or smaller anywhere in the country.

So I take it paradise is the hardest place to play limit? I find their NL200 to be quite juicy.

You simply have to learn to handle the downswings because they're going to happen, and I'm sure many (if not all) of the long term winning players here have hit 100BB downswings

I suggest you start posting hands and getting feedback on your play as no one can tell you if you can beat the game from just a few stats, or your results over 1000 hands
